St. Mary’s Ryken Student Earns Scholarship from Washington Capitals

St. Mary’s Ryken student Frank Furtado was named a receipient of the Washington Capitals Alumni Association scholarship.

 

The Washington Capitals Alumni Association, in coordination with the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation, founded an annual scholarship open to high school hockey players.  Applicants are evaluated on academic and hockey achievements, as well as their character.  One recipient from each of the five high school hockey leagues in the Washington, D.C. area are awarded a $5,000 scholarship towards their college tuition.

 

Recipients were awarded by Washington Capitals Alumni Association board members, Peter Bondra, Paul Mulvey, and President Rod Langway.
